Northport Systems, Inc. recently announced that its Fugawi Marine ENC software now supports Navionics Platinum and HotMaps Platinum multi-dimensional electronic charts. Support for Navionics premier marine and freshwater charts offers Fugawi Maine ENC users access to advanced Platinum features including three-dimensional bathymetric views, aerial photography, panoramic photos, port information and pilot books. This increased functionality allows boaters with a PC as their sole electronics mapping and navigation platform use of Navionics' award-winning charts, while boaters who currently use Navionics Platinum and HotMaps Platinum compatible chartplotters at the helm of their boat can use the same familiar cartography in their PC-based navigation computer. A free upgrade for users of Fugawi Marine ENC version 4.5 will be available for download in January from the Fugawi website.

"Northport Systems is very pleased to offer Navionics Platinum-level compatibility in our Fugawi Marine ENC software," said Robin Martel, president of Northport Systems. "Fugawi Marine ENC customers now have unparalleled capabilities on their PC and access to the same features available on Platinum-compatible chartplotters."

Delivering an optimal feature set to boaters who enjoy flexible PC-based marine charting, Fugawi Marine ENC with Navionics Platinum support combines huge coverage areas with satellite and high-aerial photo overlays of harbors, channels and others points of interest, three-dimensional bathymetric views, plus satellite overlays on 2-D and 3-D charts, panoramic photos, port information and pilot books. HotMaps Platinum features exclusive high-resolution three-dimensional map views of over 300 top U.S. tournament lakes and high detail charting for over 10,000 North American lakes, including Canadian waters.

Customers with version 4.5 of Fugawi Marine ENC also have access to other advanced features such as GoogleTM Earth, AIS and weather overlays, to name a few.
