Fusion Unveils New Line Of Marine Grade Speakers & Amplifiers

June 2008 News

Fusion, a worldwide leader in marine and car audio, announced today a new line of speakers and amplifiers designed specifically for boaters. Providing a range of speakers, subwoofers, speaker boxes and multi-zone amplifiers, Fusion now offers complete marinized stereo solutions for any size vessel. Built tough to withstand the marine environment, Fusion marine audio products are the perfect choice for boaters that are unwilling to compromise sound quality and clarity.

The new Fusion marine speaker line includes 4-, 6- and 7-inch speakers, a 10-inch subwoofer and a 2-way box speaker, all of which are designed to deliver clear sound reproduction while withstanding the punishing and often abusive conditions found on boats. Fusion speakers are fully sealed to protect against water ingress and feature waterproof cones and surrounds. Solid titanium tweeters deliver great highs while stabilizing the front grill and protecting the internal components from damage. Polypropylene composite speaker cones create greater sound definition and higher output, even in difficult weather conditions. Fusion's highly-efficient design reduces battery drain and a shielded motor structure eliminates interference that can affect marine navigation electronics.

Fusion's unique marine zone amplifier supports the multi-zone capabilities of its innovative iPod and CD enabled marine stereo units. The unit's compact design allows discrete installation in easy-access locations for convenient in-zone sound control. Available in two configurations, Fusion offers a 4-channel marine amplifier designed to boost power for up to two pairs of speakers and a 2-channel model to boost subwoofer power.

"Our extensive new line of marine speakers and amplifiers is the perfect complement to our innovative stereo system units," said Todd Crocker, head of region-Fusion Electronics USA. "For the first time boaters can install complete sound systems that were designed from the ground up specifically for use on the water, without sacrificing sound quality."

Fusion 7-inch 2-way speakers pump out 260 Watts of power, have a 91dB efficiency rating, a frequency response range of 60 to 22 kHz and a mounting depth of 3.15-inches. The 6-inch, 200-Watt, 2-way speakers have a 70 to 22 kHz frequency response range, 90dB efficiency and a 3.0-inch installation depth. The small but powerful 4-inch, 120-Watt, 2-way speakers have an 87dB efficiency level, 90 to 22 kHz response range and a 2.36-inch mounting depth. All three speakers feature shielded magnets, a titanium dome tweeter and 4 ohms impedance. The 6- and 7-inch models include cloth, standard and sport grille options, as well as three gel badge options.

Fusion marine 2-way Box Speakers are fully sealed in a UV resistant cabinet and corrosion free aluminum mesh grill. The device's unique wedge shaped cabinet measures 5.7"W x 8.0"D x 4.8"H and houses a 1-inch super polymer tweeter, mylar speaker and indoor-outdoor equalization switch. For both marine and general outdoor use, the Box Speakers can handle up to 20 watts and have a 20 to 70 Hz frequency response range. Fusion Marine Subwoofers handle 400 watts of power, and have an 88 dB efficiency level and a 4.6-inch mounting depth. All Fusion speakers comply with the IP65 Waterproof and dust standards, as well as the ASTM standard for UV stability and salt and fog resistance.

Fusion 4-channel marine amplifiers deliver a powerful 65 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms, 95 Watts at 2 Ohms and 200 Watts bridged channel by 2 at 4 Ohms. Fusion two-channel marine amplifiers offer 65 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms, 100 Watts at 2 Ohms and 200 Watts bridged. Built specifically for the marine environment, both CEA-2006 compliant amplifiers are encased in conformal-coated PCB plastic and stainless steel end panels to protect from moisture and dust. The devices measure 8.7"W x 13.0"H x 2.3"D. Fusion Zone Amplifiers are also housed in a water resistant conformal-coated PCB plastic, and deliver 70 Watts max power over 2 channels and 20 Watts at 4 Ohms per channel.

Fusion's entire marine audio line carries a 3-year limited parts and labor warranty with the option of an additional 2-year flat-rate warranty extension.
