Houseboats are proving so popular in Wendy Wu's Kerala program in southern India that she is considering extra departures next year.

The journey around the inland waters near Kumarakom and Alleppey, with an overnight stay aboard a traditional rice barge, is a standout in an 18-day Kerala and Southern Highlights tour.
