Today's roundup includes news from Nation's RiverBass Tournament, WaterFest, the South Florida Boat Show and Sale, West Marine and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is bringing 300 underserved local students to fish May 26 at National Harbor in Maryland for the third annual Nation's RiverBass Tournament.
This competition will host urban students, federal natural resource agencies, corporate sponsor and a dozen other public and private organizations to partner with bass anglers for a morning of fishing and appreciating the resources of the Potomac River.
The primary goals of the event are to connect youth to the outdoors and teach them more about sustainable catch, conservation and safe boating.
Living Classrooms serves more than 40,000 youths each year, including 18,000 in the Washington, D.C., area.
