In August, we visited Utah's national parks, then rented a houseboat on Lake Powell (pictured, at Rainbow Bridge Arch). We stopped at Arches (don't miss Delicate Arch and Fiery Furnace Hike), Canyonlands (best done in a jeep), Capitol Reef (great for a quick hike), Zion (we did The Narrows and Angels Landing) and finally Bryce Canyon (the most picturesque).

Tip: Since we hiked 10-15 miles a day, we saved the relaxing lake houseboat for the end.
