Kevin Foster

Houseboater of the Week

May 2012 Feature

Kevin Foster and his wife wanted a lakefront vacation home where we could walk out the door and get on the pontoon boat and go. However the nearest place for him to do that was several hours from home, which would have made it difficult to get our use from it. He then we decided to settle for a campground site near the lake but still wouldn't be lakefront. It wasn't until they were out on the lake one day that we suddenly realized that a houseboat would be better than a camper and we could be lakefront all the time.

They purchased a 1993 45' Catamaran Cruiser wide body, gutted it out and remodeled it to suit their taste and then had a party top installed. They keep it at Quakertown Marina at Brookville lake in Liberty Indiana, and so far have enjoyed having family and friends out on the boat most weekends. They have also made a bunch of new friends on the lake.
Kevin is a pastor so we named the pontoon boat Visitation, "that way when someone calls the church asking for me the secretary can simply tell them that I will be out on visitation all day."

"We named the houseboat Prodigal meaning extravagant spending." Kevin says. I'm not worried about not going to heaven because we just found it in the world of houseboating.
