Emerald Bay

Precision Craft Boatworks recently purchased Emerald Bay Manufacturing, which has been building houseboats since 1994. In its 100,000-square-foot facility in Oroville, Calif., just north of Sacramento, this manufacturer will continue to offer a full range of custom-built houseboats while specializing in all-aluminum models. For more information visit www.pcboatworks.com.

Sharpe

Due to tough economic times, Sharpe Houseboats officially closed its doors in September. Owner Jim Sharpe is a true pioneer in this segment of the boating industry and will be truly missed. Sharpe Houseboats has been a long-time supporter of the houseboat industry and we hope to see this builder back in business soon.

Kentuckiana Yacht

Kentuckiana Yacht Sales in Jeffersonville, Ind., builder of Monticello River Yachts and Jefferson Yachts, closed its doors in 2012.  David Shaw, former designer and VP of Operations for both companies purchased the assets of Kentuckiana Yacht Sales and Jefferson Yachts this past July.

The new company is now called Kentuckiana Yacht Services (KYS). Shaw is in the process of re-building these companies from the ground up, with his philosophy starting with great customer service and value pricing. KYS specializes in supplying parts and service to Monticello and Jefferson owners as well as brokerage services. For more information visit www.kys.com or call 812-282-2660.
