President and founder George Roberts, a long-time builder of houseboats, took his own road to houseboat-building excellence and began Sunstar Houseboats in early 1995. Taking company goals and philosophy seriously, Roberts, Bobby Gehring Sr. and Bobby Gehring Jr., together with a group of dedicated staff, were able to build and sell 60 boats in the organization's first two years. The rate of production continues to climb, as Sunstar Houseboats has since assembled a successful labor force of nearly 60 highly experienced and skilled employees.
Both management and workers possess many years of experience in the houseboat industry. We build all sizes of custom houseboats from starter houseboats to the very large, luxury custom houseboat. Founded in 1995 Sunstar is already well established and has earned the reputation for service and support long after the sale.
