I recently finished my new floor boards which is actually the cabin sole directly over 2 Crusader 270 engines. There are 8 boards are approx. 2' X 3' each.
Sound deadening is not too much of a concern, however, some sort of fire retardant or fire proofing should be in stalled.
What is recommended for the sound and fire proofing insulation?

Here is what I did today.

Someone on another suggested those fiberglass type ceiling tiles used in suspended ceilings. They have a fire rating of Class 1.

Then I put a thin layer of the bubble-wrap type of insulation with the reflective surface on top. This was done to give it a nice clean and dust free look.

I used very large washers to hold everything in place but forgot to photo the washers.

the whole process is very quick and easy.
