Nice, for a lake boat.
I can see there are no fuel costs with this one.

From the comments both on this and about our still-not-quite-finished homemade houseboat, I can see how this approach taps into some emotional need for freedom, simplicity, and affordability. It seems to be the whole 'doll-house' fantasy for the women, and the desire for off-the-grid independence for the men. It seems to be very appealing that one guy designed and built the thing from scratch, with only his own ingenuity and lack of preconceived notions. They look at our bigger, almost wasteful cubic footage, and imagine what a fine affordable and fully-livable, year-round space it might be, especially as compared to big city condos and apartments. To totally buy into the off-the-grid thing, we'll have to install solar panels, container gardens on the top deck, and rain-water collection system. Not happening this summer, but it's certainly possible.
