A friend of mine is looking for some larger Kings Craft houseboats. I have found that there are some of the larger boats with the Chrysler 318s. How well do these boats perform? Are they pretty much dogs? I know you aren't looking for the boat to ski behind, but when traveling a decent cruising speed would be nice.
We have a Kings Craft located on Kentucky Lake, 44' but we have the MercCruisers if he is interested ours is for sale. 636 458 3662
The boat actually does well with 318s. I know a fellow who took out the 318s and put in 440s but only got another 8 mph. He got to 31 mph, 23 with the 318s. This was with a slick bottom
You can ski behind a 44 with 318s
My 44 with twin 318s tops out at about 22 MPH
A neighbor of mine is considering selling his '98 Admiral 522 in order to get a larger houseboat. He's only owened it for 1 year and replaced all the flooring. I know he has 2-V8s, but not sure which ones.
If he is up in your area, I don't know of any Kingscrafts there... but if he is near Minn/StPaul have him look at Craigslist there. :cool: I have been looking really hard. I am far away from there, or I would keep this to myself. I wish him luck- I LOVE the 55'ers

I am from Indiana. Had I known you were going to be at Lake Monroe a few weeks back I would have tried to arrange arranged to meet you! We have looked at several boats there. As a matter of fact, when I was in high school (a few years ago :rolleyes: ) we had a small runabout there. I water skied every chance I had and really love that lake. My Mom is still living and only lives a half-hour from there.
