    Pickwick Lake, Ms.

    Pickwick Lake Marinas

Will be heading up that way in a month or so from Pascagoula, Ms.
Seems like most marinas wonít offer monthly rates.
Are there any reasonably priced decent marinas on the way up there from Mobile, Al and on Pickwick itself. Monthly rates, that is.
We are on our way up to Ky Lake for no particular reason other than I wanted to visit a lake named after a sex lubricant. Anyway, was looking on Google Maps and other websites and didnít realize how big and how nice Pickwick Lake really is. If we like it when we get there we may spend the rest of the year there and hit Ky. Lake next spring.
ActiveCaptain.com is only about 50% reliable from my experience.
    Any recommendations from personal experiences?
    Thanks in Advance.

If you want to spend a year in "God's Country for Houseboaters" get a slip at Joe Wheeler Marina on the Tennessee River. Rogersville Alabama between Florence and Huntsville.

Hop in your van and look it over. We were there 13 years and lived aboard 7. Best time of our lives!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks OHB.
I looked on the internet. Are you referring to the State Park?

Yes. This is a premier park in the Alabama group. Has everything including one of the best campgrounds in the nation.

The admiral looked at it on the internet and is pretty sold on it for the rest of 2014 and early winter of 2015 - SO FAR.
Then again, so am I. So, the new plan is Ky. Lake in the early spring of 2015 and possibly to the Bahamas in late fall/early winter of 2015.
This retirement thing is getting confusing. I'm not used to having so many options.

I haven't been on here but very sporadically the last several months. I am almost positive I will be passing his marina and looking forward to meeting him.
Hope to catch him on here soon.

    Marinas on the Tenn Tom

Tony, Got your PM with phone #. Call you soon! I am at Midway Marina which is in Fulton, Ms. There are only a few Marinas that have a decent sized town nearby on the Tenn-Tom. Demopolis and Columbus, Ms are two of the larger marinas on the way up. Demopolis just added a nice new marina called Kingfisher? Lots of great reviews! Mine is about 20 miles from Tupelo,Ms. The closer you get to Pickwick, the more expensive the slip fees. Mine is dirt cheap at $200 per month for a 40' covered slip. Bay Springs is one of the prettiest and clearest parts along the Tenn-Tom and we sometimes move there for the summer and slips are $350 monthly. Aqua Yacht and Grand Harbor are on Pickwick. They are closer to $450 per month or more!! Have a good trip!
