Thanks for replying. I didn't know they were that pricey. I'll just run the old genny.
Even a DC air conditioner uses a lot of power and will kill your batteries in short order. IMO it's a gimmick. You can do the same job for less money with a 120v unit and an inverter (kill your batteries).
She's a tired old barge but she's paid for!
The one that I saw at the boat show was for a very small cuddy cabin. They said it would run 8 hrs from one 12 volt deep cycle. It was portable and it needed a 3"heat exhaust tube.
It would have to be a pretty small cuddy. Doing the math I'd guess it might be good for about 1000 btu, probably less. It might get you through the night, and then you have to charge the battery. Interesting, though. Any info on the critter?

No dear, But I can suggest you some DC powered air conditioner's dealers if you want.
Thanks anyway. Wouldn't be of any use to me, and the last thing I need is another sales pitch.
For the folks in the deep lakes, I've thought one could drop a pipe down to cold water and pump it up to a fan coil to cool the air. Wouldn't work for me though, the water temperature is 85F...

I wonder if this is the one? http://www.cruisencomfortusa.com/?gc...FdgKgQodMNMOww
at 40-50 amps it would take some serious batteries to run all night.
