Changing starter on port engine 3.0 Ltr Merc

Our Holiday Mansion Coastal Barracuda is a 1985 with retrofitted twing 3.0 Ltr Mercruisers with Alpha One Gen II outdrives. The starter is easily viewable but the nuts/bolts that hold it on are behind the stringer where the engine is mounted. Almost impossible to reach.
Does anyone have any suggestions for access for this change?

    starter Removal

A mechanic with amazing flexibility had success getting into the back side and was able to remove and replace it. He did not fully share maneuvers.
Thanks for the suggestion though....that was next.
