Buffed one side of the houseboat over the last few days. I can only do so much a day. Took a break yesterday and replaced the water heater. After 21 years it developed a leak.

Attempted to just start up the boat. Port went right away, starboard never did. Replaced the battery and it would turn over. We had a heavy rain and the water will run right onto the carb if the channels overflow. So I believe I have some water in my gas. I decided to go ahead and change out the bad thermostat. After removing the housing, we noticed that the thermostats are installed upside down by one of the previous owners and they are stuck in the housing. I have ordered two new housings just in case we can't get these out.

Ordered a new submersible bilge pump, a replacement cap for the deck water fill and 10ft of vent hose. You know what they say...B.O.A.T. bust out another thousand! (not quite but close enough)

discovered I have about 65 gallons of phase separated gas in my toy tank.

The only silver lining, is it's easy to pump out. At least there's a recycle place about a mile from the boat harbor, so I don't have far to dispose of it.

Replaced my thermostat and spark plugs in the starboard engine. We had to tune the carb to get it running smooth again.

    New Name Put on Boat

I peeled the old letters off a while back and finally buffed the stern Sunday afternoon.
Monday morning the sign person came to place the lettering on the boat.

Soooooooooooooo, you don't believe in mermaids?

Replaced a fan in lower cuddy. A 10 minute job turned into a 2 hour job because I let a wire slip back in the hole. It took a couple of beers for me to stop calling myself a dumb@$$. Fortunately, my wife didn't say she agreed with me (in my presence).

Finally replaced the coil and the distributor sensor on the starboard engine. So, after new starter, plugs, carb, coil, and sensor it starts and runs like a dream.

Worked on replacing the old gray tubing with Pex. Decided I wanted to move water tanks, found that factory had not painted under the original location of tanks, found a soft spot where water pump leaked, found extra piping that needs to be removed, found some bad wiring I don't like.

Got soft spot repaired and bare spot painted.

    There is always next weekend.
