I want to share the outstanding customer service from Ozone Solutions www.ozoneapplications.com/index.html and the fantastic results we had with renting their OMZ-3400. I am not affiliated with Ozone Solutions in any way. I just want to let you know how well their products worked for us.

I did a lot of research on using Ozone for odor elimination and could only find a couple of references to using it on a boat. I contacted Ozone Solutions about using this on a boat and they assured me that the OMZ-3400 would not create ozone levels high enough to damage anything on the boat. The OMZ-3400 is for “shock treatment” not for everyday use. They also offered to refund our money (minus shipping chargers of $15 each way) if we did not notice a difference after running the unit for a week. We had had a slight gasoline smell with a lot of cover-up smells. We believe the previous owners tried to mask the odor with a lot of air fresheners throughout the boat. The level was not high enough to set off the fume detectors in the engine compartment or in the center bilge. We tracked the problem down to 20 year old fuel-fill and fuel-vent hoses.

We ran the OMZ-3400 starting on Sunday afternoon with 4 fans circulating air throughout the boat. I returned on Wednesday and turned it off and let the boat air out for two hours and the smell was completely gone. I turned the unit back on and the Marina replaced the hoses the next day. We let it run until Friday afternoon and the boat was odor free! The fuel fill hoses were causing the odor. We stayed on the boat until Sunday night and the odor had not returned.

After arranging the rental and them shipping it out we found out the marina would not have the hoses replaced when promised. I contacted Ozone Solutions and they offered to let us keep the unit an additional week at half the normal weekly rental charge. We ended up not needing the additional week but you couldn’t ask for better customer service!

I have also used an Ozone treatment to eliminate all oders in boats and elsewhere. It works well. You can use it in a car, home or boat. It is great for removing smoke oders, either from cigarettes, or an actual fire.

One more step that I take after the Ozone application has concluded, is Thermal Fogging. This will place a plesant and selected oder within.

Please advise the Marina or nieghbors you are going to Thermal Fog, it does appear that the boat, car or home is on fire and someone will call the fire department.

There are many places to rent them. Restoration companies that address fire damages have them and some rental companies on the corner have them also.

Ionizers work a miracle too. I'm talking about the ones that cost about 100.00 or more. the ones that make the air smell like a recent lightning strike. Awesome for boats!

Bought a ozone generator at the '04 (I think) Louisville HB show. Got one too large for our boat, so it's been running ever since in our home. Got a smaller one for boat. LOVE THEM!!
