That'll get me there if you promise to spin some Bennett, Sinatra, Davis Jr., and Como. Advance warning.....I'll get a little melancholy on ya tho.

How to deal with the all-night party people? This is all theory, as
our houseboat-abuilding is still months away from being habitable,
but I believe I'd handle the late-night dock party by trying not to
spend the night at the dock. Part of this fantasy of ours is that
when/if the barge is finished, we'll anchor out in some remote
little cove on pretty weekends, just us and the kingfishers.
I love the idea of throwing your own sunrise bash, except that the
peace at dawn surpasses all understanding- it'd be a shame to share
it with people who don't appreciate the finest hour of the day.
I suppose alternatives would include showing up at the party
in pajamas (hint!!) with empty glass in hand
to make the best of a raucous situation, you could
call the cops, or you could invest in some of those squishy
earplugs they sell at pilot shops, 3pr/$1. Take two, plus a glass
of brandy, and call 'em in the morning, early, to join you for a
cup of exquisite coffee on the top deck.

I believe he is a live-a-board. This is his front yard - not weekend get away.

I understand. It has to be frustrating to have inconsiderate
nincompoops whooping it up nearby until long after
bedtime for civilized folk. But isn't one of the joys of owning a
houseboat the idea that you can cast off moorings and go somewhere
more peaceful for the weekend? We ground-bound homeowners are
stuck with the neighbors, and they with us.
I do believe I'd ask the noisy neighbors once to keep it down after
midnight, explaining how sound carries over the water. If that
didn't help, then I'd have a chat with the dockmaster or marina
tenants association to make sure marina rules are in place and
enforced, and then after the third loud all-night party, I'd
be mighty tempted to just call the law. Most areas have nuisance
noise ordinances.
It might help to have other marina neighbors who spend nights
aboard their boats add their support. Check around and see if you
can get several others to join you in politely, but
firmly confronting the troublemaker. If you can gather a
group of those whose peace is disturbed, it might be more
effective in getting the message across, than if you're the
only quiet early-to-bed guy attempting to spoil the fun
of the loudmouthed party animals.

my solution is in the form of a triple set of Kahlenburg horns that rival any on a tow boat, and one unexpected blast from them and after the fisherman regains his senses ( and hearing) and cleans out his drawers they usually leave me alone (although they do usally mumble something under there breath).

Thanks for this tid-bit. I just made a sweet purchase of a 200 psi twin trumpet train horn with compressor, tank, valves and switches. They'll reach me around 9/10 and I'll install. I so feel like a 60 year old kid on Christmas Eve
On a lighter side I will add a valve, guage, and hose so I can assist in filling towable toys.

Tom, you mean congrats in the form of morning jazz and omlettes? Incidentally, I like your notion, too, as the only thing I have seen at Bourbon Street at 6 AM is folks washing the throwup and drunks into the gutters.
