This morning I "updated JAVA". The notice had blinked on my toolbar for days.
After the update, I attempted to post on this forum. Things were NUTS! I couldn't type anything. Poking around, I found the web host address & wrote them..They wrote right back.

===="Ted:

The customer who is running this site is using the EditLive WYSIWYG Java Editor. There are known issues with this editor that we have resolved, however, in order for YOU to avoid these for now, login to the forum, click on PROFILE along the top menu, then click on PERSONAL OPTIONS tab. Go down the page, and select HTML Editor and update the page.

This way you can at least use the basic editor without issues. "=========

I am probably behind thecurve here, but thought this might help someone else asleep at the switch, like me.

I had to do exactly the same things! Update to HTML editor, update JAVA and even write to the administrator for help. Funny how I found your post with the same problems and after spending a long time trying to figure out how to post.

This is caused by using the WYSIWYG editor. If you go to your profile, personal options, and change your Editor Type to HTML instead of WYSIWYG, you will be able to type your message.

WYSIWYG has more features but requires Java to be installed. Mr. Harris gave me this over a year ago and it has just started cropping up again. I hope everyone is now able to post. Sorry for the problem.

I think it goes deeper than just not having Java or the right version of Java. I have the latest version of Java and the Wysiwig editor still doesn't work right. Sometimes it doesn't even load. When it does I get the double typing.

Ted,

Thanks for the info. I had the same problem and followed your advice. It was driving me nuts why I couldn't get my posts or reply to work. I guess it helps when you know what you're doing. Thanks again.

I made sure I had the latest Java and then went to Wysi thing. It did not work, went back to the Html again. No problems now.

For a while there I thought some of us had gone to the outhouse and the wildcats ate us! Glad we're all back on the same page again.
