My marina supplies domestic water year round through submerged piping. I thought that I'd put water pipe heat trace on my supply hose from where it exits the water to my boat's inlet fitting, and wrap that in foam insulation. Does it get hot enough to soften the hose enough to burst under pressure, or do I need to protect the hose from direct contact with the heat trace? thanksalot

The heat tape I used under my house (a few years back) said "don't insulate"
THAT seems stupid. I insulated the PVC pipe anyway. Never a problem. Maybe not foam, but a lighter covering?
