How many of you will actually admit to "peeing" in the lake to avoid an additional flush into the old holding tank?

Best,

Bob

Anytime I can get away with it without embarrassing myself or the first mate, I will attempt it. This includes between boats in the marina. Sometimes you can get away with it and other times you live with your actions. Pump outs are expensive!
$5.00 plus $5.00 for tip, that could put me in the poor farm. That's 10 cents a gallon so when put that way, it's not so bad. However, if I caught someone taking a dump in the river, fur will fly.

My hand is raised!
Probably just a rummer, but I've heard they have a chemical that they are putting in the lakes to turn the water orange around the offending boat.

My deahs, Ah wouldn't dream of it.

But knowing full well that healthy urine is sterile, I won't tattle on y'all. Bet the hog farms upstream aren't nearly so fastidious.

So much so that I installed a plastic urinal with a direct lake injection system. We all do our parts in the West to keep lake levels up and at a comfortable temperature.

We don't have to worry about peeing over the side and polluting the river when we have inlets to the ocean 10 miles to the north of us and 10 miles to the south. The river get's flushed pretty regularly. Just be careful relieving yourself when you're travelling at night, it would be pretty embarrasing (and life threatening in the ocean) to fall over and not be missed for many miles.

Wear a bell?
I'm not sure how it could be practically applied for the subject currently being discussed, but we did keep 1 of those canned air horns in a holder on the aft deck rail. This was my wife's idea. It gave her peace of mind. She called it the zone alert.
Guess a fellow could hold it in his teeth, huh?

That's pretty funny Bob. (Holy cow, whats all that jingling back there....) I would definitely be one of the guys with both hands up. Everyone at Lake Cumberland feels it's neccessary to do our parts to keep the lake level from dropping any lower. I don't think it's true any more, but about 10 years ago there was something in the paper down there about 75% of all the drownings in the lake that year were from intoxocated men falling in the lake while peeing off the docks. Sounds like Darwinism to me.

My family and I are all guilty.  Our marina gives us 2 free pump outs per year.  After that it is $50 each time. (Hence the reason for my posting about pump out intervals under boating sanitation topics).  At night or during the day when no body is around it is directly over the side.  But as for my wife and kids (daughters)  they take a dip off the back swim deck at least up to their belly button.  We like to refer to it as "Checking the prop".  Of course now that the temperatures are dipping, I think they will opt for the head rather than a prop check!!

Well it was cheap! If your dinggling while your tinkling, then you're still om board.
I guess I see where the sailors saying "1 hand for you, the other for the boat" comes from.
