jimg- I see you have the HB up for sale. Looks like after all the
great stories from Ted, Clarenico, and justusboating you
might be contemplating a loop voyage! any truth? What size trawler
are you looking for? Keep us updated ... Jollytime
Jollytime,
actually, this has been a dream of mine for years. I' have always
been a water person and the best time I think I ever had was
bringing a 26' sailboat from Old Hickory lake down to where we live
here near Waverly. I brought my son with me on part of the voyage
and it was a treat, so much to see on the river system. But,
back to your statement. Yes, my wife and I plan on cruising
once we can shed the jobs long enough to do it. We plan on
something between 38' and 44'. I have found the trawler I want, and
one day,Lord willing, I'll be able to buy it. From the looks
of things, I may be able to cruise more than my wife. she has a
business in town and keeps pretty busy, especially this time of
year.
Why for sale? My priority list is differnet than my wife's.
She says, just keep it till we buy the trawler. She never worries
about anything. I'm the one trying to finish our old house so we
can sell it in two years. I'm the worry wort that has to have
everything in order, all layed out and ready to go, double checked
three times, etc. I just have a greater comfort zone
when I don't have to much on my plate. Right now, I have two
plates full. Who knows, we may have it a while, but if I can sell
it, I'll feel a little breathing room for two years before the next
big boat. I still have two other boats to be on the water with.
What kind of trawler are you looking at? Are ya'll planning on doing the loop? Would be a great trip. Seems like lots of good deals out there now. Happy hunting.
