Sorry Fred. Never heard of one. Sounds real practical though. Good luck on your search.

I don't known of anyone close to you but there is a company in Kentucky called Houseboat  Aluminum Products that might be able to help you they specialize in party tops and accessories. 270-433-7036

Fred, that sounds like a great idea-- thanks for the company name. I've emailed them asking for information/quotes myself. And probably should check with other awning companies, too.

Hey Fred 52,

Sounds like you may have found a market for a product that no one has heard of. I like the idea of "push a button and lower the top. It could even be wind sensative, like the ones the attached to the rear of home. When the wind blows too hard, the awning closes to prevent damages. Your bimini top would then lower and not blow away.

Awesome idea!!

there is already an automatic bimini top. several high-end cruisers @ the Chacigo Boat Show last year had them.

thanks for the replys .we have checked on the net and find only lehr  in ohio to be the only one with a four post unit with a motor , ele. i think , that will have a 3ft. up and down. we have a call in to them , it looks to be a good amount of money but would be well spent , to save our backs in our age group , 52. so if you know someone who has this unit . i would like to talk to them . this is a great place to find info about many things . im thinkin there may be a lot of others out there looking for something like this to . thanks again fred
