Friends,

I hate to ask this question - but the action on the forums seems to be severely dying off!

I know there are a ton of us that have houseboats.

Whats the deal?

Are there other forums that people are hanging out on these days talking about boats/Houseboats?

Thanks

I'm sure there are other forums but I don't know where they are; I've never bothered to look for them...

It's SUMMER.... folks have more interesting things to do (like going houseboating) than sit in front of a computer all day. In the winter when it's cold and icky there'll be more action on here.

I've not found any others around when I've looked. I usually check in here daily - but you're right, not a lot of action. We had a boat sink at sunrise cove at the dock a couple weeks back - that's still down and hasn't been refloated. Other than that and an overheating problem with my port engine - things are kind of normal.

Sorry to here about the boat at Sunrise?

What type of boat was it?

What caused it to sink?

Old 73 stardust steel hull. Still on bottom so don't know the cause - had an outboard so wasn't the boot. Folks weren't up that weekend so wasn't shore water (they come up fairly often so wasn't derelict). Am curious to see what happens when they get it raised and checked out. As it sank it slid up under dock so will be a bit of a chore to get raised I would think.

I've noticed the drop-off in postings and chatter on the board also.
My theory:

Up until the last two years there was a lot of boat buying, trading, remodeling, and upgrading going on. With this downturn in the economy all of that has slacked off significantly.

Has anyone else noticed that if you type 'house boat magazine' or anything else pertaining to house boats that this website does not show up? I can only get to it by typing houseboatmagazine.com in my address bar. If I didnt know it existed I wouldnt be able to find it.

Either way, there hasnt been any activity on here all year.
