You're got pretty darn close to the lake there Dan .

It's actually pretty easy but some may be still struggling some with it. Open the map link and then enlarge it into the area you're going to pin. Hit the additions link near the top left and the "add marker simple" will work. This will open a pop open window where you can post you forum handle on the top under "entry name". Then you can go on down to the description area and enter a bit of something if you care to.

Now as administrator of your pin you can click on it then your name link on the popup and you can then edit or add to you pin as you see fit. If you'd like click on mine in central Ohio and see what I mean and you can do with your pin.

OK, got it tuned in a bit better, after some playing around I find I could do even better. The question is, how do I get rid of the old one?

Dan try this, it will probably work? Click on the pin you want to discard. It will then open a pop up, then click on the "underlined name" which is an "administrative link" which should then open for you "but you may haft to be using the same computer you posted it with" anyway it should open another window and delete is an option on the bottom of this window. It will question you, click OK and you should be rid of it.

Amelia I'm not sure I can pick up your actual boat on the map but I know I had to be close to it. Now out of curiosity just how far can a person navigate up the I'd guess "a river" that passes under US 17? From looking at the map it appears it could be a satisfactory playground by itself, let alone the other boating opportunities from your mooring.

Bamby,
It worked for me, other than the fact that I didn't zoom in enough when I placed the initial marker. You must save the url that pops up in order to edit your pin. I didn't do this the first time so the pin marked Stuart Beach in southeast Fla needs to be deleted. Can you do this?
You can zoom in enough to clearly see my boat and our house across from it on the pin marked Afternoon Delight.
thanks for all of the work you've put into this.

Dan even with the map key I was unsuccessful at removing the slightly misplaced marker. I'll fool around with it a bit more later, but for the moment it has me stumped.. It does come up with: Send this URL to any person who may edit this entry.

So Maybe it's locked to your IP ? Who Knows...

joetiel, I think I was successful with yours what the difference is between yours and Dan's "I can't say". Need a scratching scalp, or bewildered emotion here,, Sometimes often..

One word of observation or note; If you attach your pin specifying a name of a nearby city or town it will automatically move your marker to that reference point despite you're attempts otherwise. So now you know the rest of the story....
