Curious to see what others have done to give good protection and padding from the corner of your dock? My slip isn't much wider than my boat, so in the wind it can be challenging to dock without hitting the corners. So, I don't take it out as much as I'd like. I was thinking if there were something that gave very good cushion and protection maybe as I got closer I could sort of ram it home so to speak. Our marina isn't the most protected from wind by any means.

Thanks

You can get "dock wheels" that mount on the corner of the dock. They not only protect you from the corner of the dock but help you "roll" the boat in.

I had dock wheels in my old slip and loved them.

Make sure the marina owner is OK with you adding dock wheels. The corner of the dock has to be strong enough to handle the strain.

We have dock bumpers that cover the virticle poles on the very edge of the slip's opening. There's nothing behind my slip except a very large cove, so I have no wind protection. By the time I get the front lined up with the slip, my stern is typically blown out of alignment, which pins me croocked in the slip's opening with the 1st 1/3 of my boat. I then tie-off one of the front cleats and reverse thrust to pull the butt back around straight, then pull it into the slip by hand.

The dock bumpers work really well and were provided by the marina with the slip. I'm still fighting them to get some cleats put on my slip, which was part of my annual contract that they haven't fulfilled yet.

I had wheels at one point but the problem is the boat would ride up on the wheel and the flat area under the corners of the front deck would scrap against the top of the wheel.

We have aluminum docks with stone tops. But, I can bolt into the aluminum.

Was thinking of these.

Too bad there wasn't something like those big exercise balls. lol Just get close and let it bounce itself in.

Find you some old tires and screw them on the end just like that. Problem solved and much cheaper
