Does anybody have a source for the window channel seals for older houseboat windows? Mine is a 1979 Summerset with Water Bonnet windows. I need to replace the seals that the opening window slides in. Thanks
I just replaced all my window channel seals in my 52" Stardust Cruiser and they work great. What you need is called vinals. It is available from Waterbonnet and
the approximate cost is $1.20 per linear foot. The phone # to order is from is
(407) 831-2122. Hope this is helpful.
Well, I figured it out with the help of a few at the boatyard...I purchased what was to be the replacement window channel and tore the window all apart and discovered the material would not actually fit. now the window is apart with no channel seal and now we could not find any material to work. Thankfully it is not our wet season in Ca. and yes, we found new material in the JC whitney rv catalog that will work. They carry a variety of shapes and sizes and thought i would share. the online catalog is great and if you type window channel seals you will get a list, pictures and measurements...great news for me and i hope someone else who has an old houseboat! Now only six or seven more windows to go...fun fun fun.
ps...after five weeks of work back in the water goes our 1977 burnscraft - and it still floats :-))
