Okay, I know, many of you don't want to think about this, but I have to and since it is my first winter with a houseboat, I need a little advice.
I live in Minnesota, so am less than a month from pull out for the winter.
I would like to avoid the $700 a year bill to have it shrink wrapped.   Do you cover your houseboats?  If so with what?  I have seen some pretty elaborate homemade pvc frames with tarp covers.
I am pretty handy with tools and have a few friends that are willing to help out.
What do you think?

My son in Michigan has a large sailboat which he had shrink wrapped once then he carefully removed the shrink wrap and stored it the next spring. He has used the same shrink wrap for several years by using the tape that they use for shrink wrap to seal the places that had to be cut to remove it.
