WattsBarbarians Member Posts: 87 Joined: 08/16/2007	Our 1989 Sumerset original depth finder is Lowrance model 3400 with 2" diameter display at the helm and thru-hull transponder. The system works except for the display's back light. Lowrance no longer sells the display and I don't want to pull the boat out of the water to replace the transponder or hang one off the transom. Uniden, for example, says not to use theirs with aluminum hulls. Do you know a particular brand that can do this? I am trying to upgrade to a Graph Type LCD Depth finder and have a Tech guy at Lowrance trying to figure out which one I can use with my existing thru-hull. Otherwise, I'd look into changing the transducer while the boat's in the water. WattsBarbarians Member Posts: 87 Joined: 08/16/2007	The Vexilar product looks like it has some potential. However, I checked with Sumerset and our aluminum hull is 0.1875" thick. Vexilar recommends their transducer for hulls up to 0.15" thick.
