I finally think i found out what tranny and outdrive I have.....It looks like a PCM Tranny with a cable running to a hydraulic valve powered by the power steering punp, and looks like a Dana 81 outdrive with another shift cable running to the side if it....Both cables run to a Morse controller......My problem is I cannot find nuetral , nor will it go into forward,,,,stuck in reverse....This is in a 73 Gibson powered by a 318....Can anyone shed some light on this issue???? What do each cable control???

It sounds like your boat has a case of the crawfish. Always backing up, but Old Houseboater is the one who needs to chime in here.
