Last week I replaced my starboard ignition switch. The new switch
was slightly different from the brass one that came out.
Unfortunatley, I replaced it at the end of the day on
Sunday. Here I am again, and I just noticed I wired the hour
meter hot. Port engine shows the original 675 hours, the
starboard engine now has a little over over 800. What can I
do? Can I wire it backwards for awhile? Do I wire a new
pair to a battery at home, get them to the hours I need, and
install them CORRECTLY this time? Do I have any other options?
Just note it in your boat's log. I keep one just for the engines and generator. It's no different than having to replace the meter if it were broken. Note in detail what happened and when you did it. It get's passed on to the next owner.

Tonka, your probably right, but I'm anal. Little things like this
drive me out of my mind. I've been busting my tail this summer on
squeaks and rattles. For a 78, this boat is clean/nice. Thanks to
you guys that replied.
