My depth finder transducer bracket broke at some point this year and was whipping my fiberglass hull and chipped the gelcoat (dime sized) it is atleast 1/8 inch deep and I can see the glass under the white coloring. There are no leaks is there a quick easy fix for this that will last?
Is the boat new enough to go to the manufacturer for gel? If
not, go to a local marine store for some gel & some
instruction, the gel should be close in color. Or a little
Marinetex depending where the chip is.
Sorry I ask a question and then disapear for weeks on end. Job has got me everywhere but home of late. The boat is a 2005 and the chip is below the waterline on the back of the boat. Aft of the transom there is a small section of the hull that runs between the twin jets about an extra foot give or take it is on the back corner. Also do you know if you can just buy the depth finder bracket?
