Is your boat Gas or Diesel? Plastic bowl filters are a no no on gas boats.

They do separate, you may need to use two wrenches. The bowl is replaceable if your zone man has ruined it or you damage it taking it apart. You can also buy metal bowls if you're concerned about the plastic with gas.

Ted try this site:
http://www.parker.com/EAD/disp...1&sMode=Details

Once you identify your unit go to the "parts catalog" it'll show you an exploded diagram. Should help you figure out how to get it apart.

I think this may be the type you have: http://www.parker.com/EAD/Digi...digital_asset_id=29641

Take it by an alternator repair shop.

I'd still take it by an alternator shop and have them look at it. A good shop could still fix it, I think.
