my engines ( mercruiser 5.0 mci) are doing quick beeps when I try to start them...I can't find out what that means anywhere....does anyone know?

Are you saying that when you first turn the key on you hear a short beep?

I just Googled "beep codes for Merc 5.0" and had a few hits like this one.

Seems the first 3 beeps are a self test, much like a computer.
