I'm trying to find a wiring diagram for a 1982 Kayot.  Can anyone help?   Thanks.

You have asked what is probably the most frequently asked electrical question. Unfortunately the answer is, there probably isn't one, unless you can find someone who owns the same boat and has traced out the electrical system. However the good news is that wiring on boats is pretty much the same. Take a look at the electrical pages on my web site http://newboatbuilders.com/pages/electricity1.html or go buy a book on electrical systems for boats. Here's a ;ist.

Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual, by Nigel Calder
The 12 Volt Bible, by Miner K Brotherton and Ed Sherman
Boating Magazine's Powerboater's Guide to Electrical Systems by Ed Sherman
Sailboat Electrical Systems, Don Casey, 1999 International Marine
Boatowner's Illustrated Handbook of Wiring, by Charlie Wing
Your Boat's Electrical System, by Conrad Miller and E. S. Maloney
Managing 12 Volts, Harold Barre 1997 Summer Breeze Publishing

Managing 12 Volts is probably the most basic, But Nigel Calder's is the best IMHO. However it's aimed more at cruising boats.
