Type vessel a 38ft 1989 Holiday Mansion. Every year for the last four years when the temp. reaches freezing the engine compartment fills with 6 inches or 150 galions of water that frezees. Come spring the water thaws, I pump it out, and not so much as a drop of water in the bilge. Even after the worst of spring rains. Talked to three mechanics and the old salts around the harbor and no solution. I will pull the boat ths fall for bottom paint. Need thoughts as to what to look for. thanks.

I have the same problem every year. I have an older (1971) SilverQueen and the hatches have gutters that are drained via a hose to a thru-hull. I believe the hoses freeze up in the winter and then the gutters overflow into the bilge.
