I am totally rebuilding my 1972 Searover and need help with the water piping on the boat. I have the boat totally gutted due to rot. All the wood has been changed and after next weekend I should be starting to frame up the inside.

I plan to use this HB for a hunting camp in the winter (about 6 months) and then use it as a condo in New Orleans(lakefront) durning the summer.

For the 6 months I will use it for hunting I will not have a water source besides rain! What I am going to do is put a water catch on the roof and pipe it in to the tank. When I do have the boat dock side I would like to hook up the water and not have it going with the rain water because I was told it would spoil if put together and I will not need my pressure pump running at the dock.

Any one have a drawing of where I would need to put valves and check valves?

It looks good. With one more filter and a UV purifier, you could actually drink the water on the cold water side. Your main filter should be something like a 5 micron pleated "big blue" diameter filter. A second filter in your cold water line after you supply the hot water could be 5 micron too, but it should be carbon to take care of taste and odor. Standard diameter or "slimline" is big enough for this. Then the water goes through a UV purifier. You can buy them in 110v or 12v.

I have been drinking lake water for the past year after using this setup. The water tastes great. Much better than the stuff that has been in a plastic tank from week to week. No one has gotten sick and our water supply is measured in acre feet instead of gallons.
