I purchased a replacement Jabsco joystick for my Gibson houseboat spotlight. I looks like a direct replacement! But... The old 1980's joystick (or called a 8 way directional switch) has two resistors soldered to it. Should I re-use these resistors? The entire switch assembly is the classic Joystick, Hi-Lo switch, and speed control.

THANKS

I replaced the switch without the resisters and things eventually worked. The 2 switches that control the fly bridger control were removed because the either didnt work or dropped too much voltage.
