I am going to replace a small ( 20 gal.) tank under the helm area of our 1972 Gibson 36. I want to put in larger (60 gal.) in the bilge area. The tank in the bilge would be 24" tall and about 8 feet from the Crown head (old). I think the inlet will be at about the same height as the current one, but still uphill. Should I rethink this setup?

By the way. I got your book. Everyone should read it.

Weeelll...the bilge isn't best locations on most boats, but it could be ok on a houseboat.  And your proposed tank inlet location is a little further from the toilet than it should...6' is the optimum distance. And I'm not exactly thrilled that it'll be uphill from the toilet. So maybe we should discuss it more detail than is practical in a discussion forum. If you wanna send me an email or a PM, we can go from there.
