Here is a question for any of you who have a msd II system that requires the 3" calcium hypochlorite tablets.
From what I have been told, you can not use regular swimming pool chlorine tablets in the msd II system.
My question is where is the best place to purchase these tablets? The best price I have found so far is $48. for a 10 pound bucket from a msd manufacturer.
I have found swimming pool product website that has a 50 pound bucket for $134 but I am wondering if these can be used in our msd system.
No, we have the AHEAD msd II system but, from my understanding, you can't use regular swimming pool chlorine tablets because they are not authorized for dumping into the lake, plus, if you mix them, there is a chemical incampatibility that may cause an explosion within your poop tank system.
If you don't know for certain, don't guess--or worse yet, just
assume-- that anything similar to what the instructions call
for will work. Contact the equipment mfr to ask them. Have the
MSDS--which you should be able to get--for the product in question
(in this case, the mfr of the 50 lb. bucket of tabs) handy when you
do.
