I am building out from a new 42' Catamaran Cruiser shell. I have a direct drop toilet and a 1.5" pump out hose. I purchased a macerator pump. Do i just put the pump in line as close (vertically) to the top of the black water tank and connect the outlet from the pump to a portable RV waste tank.? My vent pipe is only 1/2". Is that going to be an issue?  Thanks.

Jeff,

Before reading further please note this is not really my area of expertise. With that being said, I pretty much did the same thing on my boat temporarily to use the bathroom while I was building. What I learned was to stay away from a macerator pump and use a diaphram pump. Digging things out of that macerator pump became a monthly ordeal and was not fun at all to say the least. I replaced the macerator pump with a diaphram pump and did not have one issue for over a year. Good luck!!!

Jason
