Peg I am in the process of replacing the tanks in my boat and also the sewage lines from the toilet to the tank and out, also the vent for the holding tank. But do the other hoses need to be replaced? I.E. the water lines going to the toilet and the fresh water tank? Also they are not in bad shape but trying to get the smell out and want to make sure that they dont absorbe the smell. But the budget like everything is going threw the roof. So any I can save would be great.

Robert Im not Peg and not a professional at this, but we just changed out our hoses. If there is a question about changing a hose, just grip it with your hand, if it smells replace it. I went ahead and replaced all of the hoses while we were at it, and now no smell. Also I found that the boat was plumbed incorrectly anyway, so it was good to do it right and be done with it. Double clamp and buy good clamps while you are at and you wont have to worry about it anymore. I am installling the bamboo flooring now, and its looking pretty good. But most important, no smell!!!! Good luck. Glen

If you're gonna do it, do it right...replace ALL the hoses. A few
feet of intake line and vent line shouldn't add more than $20 to
the cost.
Bamboo floors in a boat?? Woohoo! Just don't ever drop anything
heavy on it, 'cuz bamboo is gorgeous, but it scratches and
dents if you even look at it too hard.
