Do you have a good survey? What brand of boat, what year? where are you located?

Insurance on older factory, or brand custom built houseboats is tough. Actually, had I known I wouldn't be able to insure my boat, I wouldn't have built it to the current ABYC standards and probably would not have had the Coasties perform their inspection.

Every company I checked would not insure because of, now get this, we built the 32" by 36" pontoon logs out of 14 ga. stainless steel. Three 12' chambers on each side. This boat would need a direct hit from a Howitzer to go down.

Uninsurable stainless steel.....go figure.

Good luck on your quest,
Edd

They insure my 1976, 43' Stardust Cruiser. They will require a survey, but it can be an "in the water" survey.

State Farm just did my 72 Drifter, no survey. They might have been being nice, as I moved all my insurance over to them.
