That is one beautiful boat. Makes me want to be a better sailor/owner. Thanks for the inspiring photos. Glen

Dang Kahuna. "Impressive" just doesn't do it justice. That is absolutely amazing. I take it the 502's are new?

Thanks for the kind comments. It's been a work in progress for 4 years. I've completely re-plumbed it, installed new head with a Pura-San, replaced all appliances, and cabinetry, all gauges up and down, new shaft logs and struts, new rudders and shafts and tubes and many other items.
I bought the 502's when they had 200 hrs on them. The boat had the original 318 Chrysler big blocks. We ran those for one season until we blew a hole through a piston. At that time I decided to re-power with something newer. I paid a yard to do the re-power with the 502's that I furnished. The re-power necessitated new transmissions, shafts, and props along with many other parts and a lot of labor. But it's been worth it. We spend every weekend during the 6 month season on the boat, and we take it out every weekend.
I have crawled through every sq ft of the hull, and stripped out 70 lbs of old wiring.
These old boats are a lot work, but what I have is unique, and very dependable. Since the re-power and re-fit we have not had a single failure, or breakdown. We take one long trip a summer- usually 200 miles round trip.
Incidentally, it still has the original Kohler 6.5kw genset-with 6300hrs+ on it. Runs like a champ.

Kahuna I love your Crusaders but hardly classic. Here is my starboard side 78 Crusader "Sally". I'm working on Perl next week. (port)

Ej,
Your boat is beautiful! I love that engine shot. For some of the newer members here, you should post photos of your boat. Ej is a master fabricator, everyone should see the swim platform he built.
