has anyone ever seen a 44' or 55' Kingscraft with a cuddy cabin below the salon? Our friend just bought one and they are considering adding this and we're on a mission to find pictures, diagrams, drawings or anything else that would help with this.
thanks!!

Except for the 48 single level, KingsCrafts don't have enough headroom below the salon floor for a good cuddy. I owned a 47 and a 48.

thanks Old Houseboater. We didn't think it was roomy enough either but someone told her that they had seen this done.
by the way, LOVE your Pluckebaum! It's a great boat!

Years ago there was a steel hull houseboat built in Tuscumbia AL called the "Tuscumbian" I think. I remember stopping by there and seeing a few being built and they were single level. Does anybody know how many of the boats are still around?

Think your probably refering to Sea Goings. And yes, there still a bunch of them. Sea Going, Kings Crafts, and Burns Craft were all built in the Florence, Tuscumbia, Mussle Shoals, Sheffield (Quad City) area.

This was an all-steel single level that looked much like a Drifter, had a full length single basement level also. It was called a "Tuscumbian" and was really a pretty boat. Was right on Hwy 72 about 3-5 miles west of Tuscumbia. I did stop in once..was a well made boat and they produced one-at-a-time. I cannot remember for sure but it had to be mid-early 1980's.
