Guys and Gals,
my boat partner and his wife wants me to put our boat on the internet to sell. My question to everyone is, which site do you reccomend? We are in Middle Tennessee on the Tn river system. We live within 10 minits of the dock and showing the boat ourselves is not a problem. We are going down to take some photos this weekend.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. There are just so many internet sites available, I don't know which one might be the best. Your experience will be helpful. thanks in advance.
Jim

These days, you might want to use all of them.

Riverliver,
I think stmbtwle is right about using a lot of different ones. We kept seeing the same ads on a lot of different sites. As a recent houseboat buyer, I can give you ideas about what kinds of things we looked for when we found a boat ad that interested us.
1. good pictures and lots of them showing inside & out including engines and asking price
2. specification sheet showing all the bells & whistles that go with it along with the brand name and model # of special components
3. a quick response back to someone calling for more info or to see it
4. location was also important, both for driving to see it but also getting it to our home port if we bought it
5. we liked looking at the web sites that allowed us to search by manuf name or models. some sites let you review all ads or will let you limit ads to specific selections
6. some sites even showed sales by States
7. we looked at tons of web sites, some better than others
There are a lot of sites that help you buy a boat or sell a boat. Some have one time fees to place your ad on their site and others require you use a broker in order to list on their site. Since we were the buyer, we used a broker and were very satisfied with how they took care of us, but we saw a lot For Sale By Owners.
I'm sorry this doesn't help make your decision on which site to use, but it may help give you an idea of what and how boat buyers look for when starting their search for that perfect boat.

Now is the time to get it out there, every day it is not, is one day longer you own it, and soon the buying season will be over, 3 houseboats sold in my area last week, and we have very few houseboats around.

It's on the boat trader site. My friend opted for the least expense, hence the puny 1 picture advertisement.
