I had posted a warning to other boater in 2 catagories classified as well as vintage houseboat. I posted them in both because I wanted to know if others had gone through the same and I thought those purchashing a boat would like the advise.
It seems that the one in classified has been deleted and the other blocked. I am new here as you know but I think that the advise given is some of the best advise in this forum. I am truely not here to bash the moving company and thouse have no objections to the removal of eighter/both posts. I would however like to ask permision to repost without the company name. Like I said had I read about others having this same problem I would have atleast googled or asked for references. Yes I am very unhappy with that Company but I more so what to make sure the same thing dosen't happen to others regarless of what company they go with I know that there has got to be more than just one bad moving company out there.
Obvioulsy there are two side to that story. In your case, you did nothing wrong and it was all the fault of the moving company. However, hearing his side showed a completely different set of events. To get into a "he said, she said" discussion here will not help anyone.
Dave I completly understand your stance on the closed topic I am not intrested in a debate. What I am intrested in is letting other boaters know of a very real problem. Had I done my home work and checked this company out I would have found alot more stories just like mine. For an owner to cuss at my wife to the point where she is in tears (all she wanted was an explaination) and then making threatening phone calls to my house. I just wanted let others know of this very real problem. My question was could I post without offending anyone here a warning to check out ALL boat moving compainies before people pick one. Like I stated I am sure there are more than one questionable company out there. Me looking at it in hind sight and then looking at the company has done me no good my only hope is that I can help other houseboaters. I have been a boater all my life and have owned boats for over 14 years and I have met alot of great people on the water and had alot of really good times. I have no intrest in fighting with any company in any forum. Just to protect all the great people I have met that are involved in boating and those who choose to come out and enjoy us. And simply urge everyone to atleast Google your boat moving company and get references I am sure any company on the up and up would have no problem with that.
