If you check the box (do not parse) then when you type something like :-) will still look like :-)
otherwise it will change into a colorful "smiley face."
I am a brand new user. Has anyone had problems with their editor interface?? When I create a message and type anything in it looks as if I am hitting the repeat key or holding it down. I finally went into my personal options as chose the "HTML" interface as my default message editor instead of WYSIWYG and it seems ok now.
