Lake Mohave is a narrow deep impound approximately 65 miles long and 3 miles at it's widest point. The water level is stable year around with fluctuations under 15 feet. The northern part of the lake you can travel through the narrow when its open to motor boats. Check first just how far you can travel north. Natural hot springs are fun to play in where they flow into the lake.
Lake Mead is currently under drought conditions although a much bigger lake. It has more shoreline available for houseboating. It is also can be more dangerous with the high winds and big water. Many insurance companies exclude Lake Mead in their coverage.
Temperatures are about the same at the two lakes and both are under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service. We have a slip at Lake Mohave. Come on by and say hello if you can.
