Hey all you houseboat owners and lovers! My name's Brandon Barrus, and I'm Tyler Baum's replacement as assistant editor for Houseboat magazine. Tyler has been promoted to a head editor position within our publishing group, and I took over for him at Houseboat this week.

While I'm an admitted neophyte in the world of boating, I am a message board addict and feel like I have a small handle on you guys (and gals) after a couple days of lurking. I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any problems or questions.

Welcome aboard Brandon.

Jump on in... the water is fine

I think you will find that the board full of good folks willing to share there houseboating experiences. Hopefully you can use some of this info to create some quality stories for Houseboat magazine.

Thanks,
Dave

Welcome Brandon, good luck with the new duties. First thing you must do is have a party for all of us to come meet you. Just send the corporate jet around to pick us up. About three days in the Bahamas ought to do it. We'll put in a good word for you.

Thanks, everyone. I'll see what I can do about using the corporate jet, but right now I'm the low guy on the totem pole.

Hi, Brandon- Glad to 'meet' you!

If you hang out on this forum long enough, you'll have some wonderful stories for the magazine! Right here on this very board, you have at least one great feature a month of somebody's excellent adventure, somebody else's brilliant do-it-yourself upgrade, some fine vittles, great ideas for living it up, and worthy suggestions for making it home in one piece.
The owners of those gorgeous multi-zillion dollar dock queens need some inspiration to cast off the lines- and their impediments- and see what's around the bend, down the river or up the lake, to live the dream they had when they took delivery.
Hope you'll find that worth pursuing.

Best,
Amelia
