Rodd Diehl AKA Old Houseboater

Rodd has been boating since he was eight years old. His first boat was a liner out of an old refrigerator that he floated in a dredge cut in his farm in Michigan. His first real boat was a 14' Molded plywood with a 25 HP Johnson. Over the years he has owned four cruisers and seven houseboats. Four of the house boats were projects.

He has always been handy and enjoyed rebuilding anything. Over the years he has rebuilt a ton of wrecked cars, player pianos, pump organs etc. Him and his wife boated Michigan for many years until 1987 when they moved to Tennessee to Start up "Saturn". They boated the Tennessee River and lived aboard for seven of the 13 years they were at Joe Wheeler Marina. Truly the best years of their lives.

Rodd's occupation was in manufacturing engineering and he has retired a total of four times.
He has been the "go-to" guy on all the docks they have berthed at. "Machinery likes me and I always enjoy helping anyone with a problem," Rodd says.

He has been the Senior Moderator For the Forums section for about 16+ years and also moderate the House Boating World forum. (His profile has almost 6000 hits.) He gives counsel and advice to many of his followers.
